Andy Blackwood, Ersatz B-flat Tuba

Andy Blackwood serves as a clearing house for verbal abuse within the band. He dishes it out, and boy, does he take it.

Andy holds a bachelor's degree in music from Boston University where he studied with Sam Pilafian and a master's degree from Northwestern University where he studied with Rex Martin. As an "adult," he obtained a second bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota. He is currently a CAD support person with National Oilwell Varco.

In his free time, Andy enjoys going to concerts. Lots of them. Eighty-eight in 2010 and 96 in 2009. No, really. He also collects beer- and sports-related memorabilia, although he isn't really sure why anymore. He is also an avid poker player, although not in immediate danger of appearing on television in that capacity.
