Brian Borovsky, Solo Euphonium

Brian Borovsky, Solo Euphonium

Brian Borovsky is a wonderful euphonium player. He left the band for several years when he took a faculty position at Grinnell College in Iowa. Brian missed the band, his mommy, having something to do on weekends, etc., and has taken a position at his alma mater, St. Olaf College in Northfield. As penance for abandoning us all those years, we stuck Brian in the alto horn section for a while. Brian's been pretty well-behaved for the most part since he's been back, so we're letting him play euphonium again.

In addition to his bachelor's from St. Olaf, Brian holds a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Minnesota and did post-doctoral work at the University of North Carolina. He uses a lot of big words when he describes the research he does.

Brian and wife Tory had their first child in 2008.

Brian's chair is sponsored by Gerry and Jean Shultz.
