Gerry Shultz has the dubious distinction of being the oldest member of what is, to be blunt, an old band. An electrical engineer by training, Gerry spent over 36 years at IBM in Poughkeepsie, New York and Rochester, Minnesota, mostly in management. He retired from IBM to music in 1988. He was a founding member of the Sheldon Theatre Brass Band in 1989. Gerry claims that only a grandfather clause has kept him in this band, and he is a grandfather of eight. Gerry also plays with the Rochester City Band and the Rochester Community and Technical College Band. He also organizes RCTC ensembles which play in area nursing homes.
Gerry's chair is sponsored by Phil McNairy.
